Chief Government Spokesperson CORNELIUS MWEETWA says there is a lot of misinformation on the matter on some platforms

Mr. MWEETWA who is also Information and Media Minister says Journalists should rise to the challenge and explain what the debt restructuring deal means for the people.

Mr. MWEETWA said this in a speech read on his behalf by Ministry of Information and Media Permanent Secretary THABO KAWANA during the World Vision Zambia Media Awards in Lusaka.

Mr. MWEETWA also urged Journalists to focus on developmental issues that affect the people and not always report on Politics.

And,World Vision Zambia Chief Executive Officer JOHN HASSE said the Media remains a cornerstone in informing the population on key developments.

And, Media Institute of Southern Africa-MISA -Zambia Chairperson LORRAINE CHISANGA said the media is key in highlighting inequalities among children.

Ms. CHISANGA said Journalists  have a  crucial role in holding decision makers accountable on the need to take action on issues affecting children in the country.
