Mwape Musonda named PSL player of the month

South Africa based Zambia national team striker Mwape Musonda was on Thursday named as the PSL player of the month for March/April.

This is the second time the former Zanaco striker is winning the accolade having been voted as the player of the month in the December/January period in a all Black Leopards awards scoop as his coach Dylan Kerr won the coach of the month award at the time.

Musonda who is currently the PSL leading goalscorer has been in fine form scoring six goals in Leopard’s four games during this period including a hat-trick in his side’s come-from-behind victory over Chippa United.

Musonda was summoned for Chipolopolo duty by Aggrey Chiyangi for the Egypt 2019 AFCON qualifier against Namibia and started the match.

Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic was named as the Absa Premiership Coach of the Month for guiding the Buccaneers to four wins and two draws, collecting 14 points out of a possible 18 in six games played in this period.

Kaizer Chiefs’ Khama Billiat won the Absa Premiership Goal of the Month award for March for his curling scintillating goal from 25-yards to equalise for Amakhosi in their 1-1 draw against SuperSport United in early March. The three awards all come with a R5,000 reward.
