Murder suspect tells Court that Dr. TEMBO died after a physical confrontation

Murder suspect, NIGEL MWABA has told the Lusaka High Court that former Ministry of Health Spokesperson, TASILA TEMBO died after a physical confrontation between the two of them.

Lieutenant MWABA, who is a Zambia Army Officer, has told the court that the two attacked each other, after an altercation, which was caused by suspicions of infidelity and mutual debt crisis.

He was testifying in a matter in which he is accused of allegedly killing Dr. TEMBO and disposing of her body in Mikango area in Chongwe District.

Lieutenant MWABA has testified that on the fateful day, he intercepted disturbing WhatsApp messages and materials on Dr. TEMBO’s phone, which led to the altercation.

He has told the court that the WhatsApp conversations were between Dr. TEMBO and a named church Pastor of Lusaka, who he had suspected of having an affair with her.

Lieutenant MWABA stated that this happened when Dr. TEMBO and him were driving on Leopards Hill Road in Lusaka, on the night of October 23, 2020.

Defence in the matter continues.
