Munthali lauds team effort after winning over Buildcon

Lumwana Radiants caretaker Coach/player Christopher Munthali has lauded the Lumwana Radiants senior players for their attitude towards Sunday’s 2-1 win over Buildcon.

Munthali who featured for the Uranium Boys on the day as a coach-player after the suspension of Patrick Phiri noted that the task wasn’t easy but was quick to mention that they had to move on from the Coach’s suspension and focus on the task ahead.

When asked what the team did differently towards charging and inspiring his lads to their first win, Munthali noted that they just had to score which was their major problem in previous games.

“I feel good, It was the first time playing without a coach and we get maximum points. Am happy all the guys played like we had a coach on the bench,” he said.

” It was not easy, but the players did well, we helped each other since we all senior players. We have just changed a few things up front and managed to score since that was our problem.”

“The mood was low but we encouraged each other so that we move forward. Am remaining on the pitch,” he added.

Lumwana Radiants picked up their first win of the season on Sunday as they beat Buildcon 2-1 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium after having failed to win a single game in the 2020/2021 campaign.

Former Power Dynamos, Forest Rangers, and Zanaco striker Felix Nyaende scored a brace to help North Western Province based side to their first win.
