MTN launches 5G

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA says there is need to leverage technology to enhance revenue collection in the country.

President HICHILEMA says the country is losing a lot of revenue as a result of a gap in technological advancement.

The President said this in LUSAKA today during the launch of MTN’s Fifth Generation, “5 G”, phone service.

At the same function Technology and Science Minister FELIX MUTATI acknowledged that the application of mobile technology in various sectors is key to economic growth.

Meanwhile MTN Group Chairperson JONAS MCEBISI said Zambia is on a positive path to macro-economic growth.

Mr. MCEBISI is hopeful that the launch of “5G ” phone service will further contribute to economic growth arising from fast application of internet.

Meanwhile MTN ZAMBIA Chief Executive Officer BART HOFKER said ” 5 G” phone service is not only fast but also reliable.
