Mpezeni Thanks Govt for New Palace

Paramount Chief Mpezeni said he was thankful to PF government for building him a new palace.

Speaking when President Edgar Lungu commissioned his new palace,

Paramount chief Mpezeni said if child does a good thing to you that child must be commended.

“You can have money to build a house but a gift is a gift you have to accept it,” he said.

President Lungu said the palace was supposed to be handed over to the Paramount Chief in 2016 in January.

He urged the minister of Infrastructure Ronald Chitotela and his permanent secretary Charles Mushota who was also present that they should ensure that when they start a project there is enough funding so that they don’t delay.

Meanwhile government has finally commissioned the paperless K10 million Chipata District hospital.

The hospital uses e-cards for patients thereby doing away with folders, books and others as the data is kept in computers.

The new district hospital is situated near the new Chipata Welcome area along the Great East Road.

President  Lungu said the commissioning of the hospital came at the right time when Chipata had been upgraded into a city.

President Lungu said provision of public services should be as per city status.

He said the construction of the district hospital was one of the many infrastructures that the PF government has undertaken.

President Lungu said currently, the government was constructing district hospital in Vubwi, Nyimba and Lundazi districts.

The head of state took time to highlight a number of developmental projects that his government was undertaking in various parts of the province.
