Mopani Copper Mines has summoned Mine Union leaders to resume negotiations which were suspended in December last year.
Mineworkers Union of Zambia (MUZ) President JOSEPH CHEWE has confirmed the development to ZNBC news in an interview in Kitwe.
Mr. CHEWE said the development follows investment into Mopani by the equity partner International Resources Holdings of the United Arab Emirates.
He said workers at Mopani Copper Mines have been struggling to get better conditions of service in the last 3 to 5 years.
And United Mineworkers Union of Zambia  General Secretary YOSSU NYIRONGO said the unions are expecting to negotiate better conditions of service for members.
