Mocking of Covid 19 patients,disappoints Sumaili

ZANIS—Minister of National Guidance and Religious Affairs Godfridah Sumaili has expressed deep shock over what she calls   un-Zambian behaviour by people stigmatizing citizens who have tested positive for coronavirus.Rev Sumaili has therefore, called on all citizens to be patriotic and embrace the spirit of “Ubuntu” amidst covid-19 fight.She explained that “Ubuntu” talks about compassion, patriotism, love and caring for one another especially in difficult times such during the Covid-19 pandemic.Zanis reports that Rev Sumaili was speaking in Lusaka , during a press briefing at her office.Rev Sumaili charged that Coronavirus does not know colour, gender or tribe, but that it attacks anyone and further   called for concerted efforts in fighting the pandemic.She further employed all Christian faithfuls to continue praying for the nation, saying that it is because of payers that the country has recorded   about 700 recoveries from the pandemic which has taken a lot of lives globally.Meanwhile, Rev Sumaili has lauded President Edgar Lungu for pardoning 3,000 inmates during the celebration of African freedom day and urged everyone to show them support as they join society.
