MMD Livingstone Parliamentary candidate Michael Kashinka has rubbished the threat by Raphael Nakacinda carried in the Zambia Daily Mail of Wednesday 8th June, 2016 that he would  petition his Parliamentary candidature along with those of Elizabeth Chitika (Kawambwa) and Kamuti Kamwengo (Mongu Central) as laughable and should be dismissed with the contempt it deserves.

Kashinka is a member of the Nervers Mumba-led MMD faction’s MMD National Executive Committee.

In a press statement released to ZNBC News from Livingstone, Kashinka has said he has been a dedicated and unwavering member of the MMD since its inception in 1991 and is a member of the current (NEC) and current  MMD  Chairman for Southern Province. He said he was recently duly awarded an adoption certificate after successfully going through the party adoption process and has advised Nakacinda to calm down and be aware that the matter to determine the genuine MMD leadership between Dr. Mumba and Felix Mutati is before the Supreme Court and he should therefore be patient and wait for the ruling of the Court.

Commenting on the  matter, the Mumba faction’s National Secretary Reverend Reuben Sambo has said that the party has been in this position before and Nakacinda is well advised to tone down his irritating rhetoric and wait for the ruling of the courts on many issues surrounding the controversial convention held in Kabwe between 20-22 May, 2016 and organized by expelled former Lunte MP Felix Mutati, suspended National Secretary Mwansa Mbulakulima and himself as suspended Party Spokesperson.

Reverend Sambo added that interestingly, Mwansa Mbulakulima has since been adopted to stand on the PF ticket in  Milenge Constituency of Luapula Province.
