Ministry of Home Affairs regrets the conviction of two police officers for aiding and abetting immigrants

THE Ministry of Home Affairs says the story of two police officers, who were arrested and subsequently convicted by the Subordinate Magistrate Court in Mbala District for aiding and abetting immigrants, is regrettable and source of shame to the Ministry.And the Ministry has warned officers from its various departments who are engaged in criminal activities that their service life is being monitored and appropriate actions would be meted against anyone found wanting.Ministry Spokesperson Nephas Chifuta in a statement further warned that the Ministry shall not support any form of criminality.
