By Joy Siatubi -Chipolopolo coach Milutin Sredojevic says Zambia’s race to the Cameroon 2021 Afcon tournament is still open despite the one nil loss to Botswana.

Micho told journalists at the post-match briefing that he has not given up as the loss is one setback that should not make the team give up.

And speaking later when he addressed the team, Sports minister Emmanuel Mulenga encouraged the players not to lose hope despite the loss.

Mulenga said the loss is not the end of the road as Zambia still has a chance of qualifying to the Afcon.

He thanked the players for putting in their best to represent the country, further saying they should rise to the occasion when called upon for the two qualifying matches remaining.

Zambia’s chances of qualifying to the Cameroon 2021 AfCON are in limbo after the Chipolopolo Boys lost 1-nil to Botswana at the Obed Itani Chilume Stadium in Francistown last evening.

The Zambian team could not replicate their format from the first leg played in Lusaka, conceding as early as the sixth minute via a Gaolalwe Mosha header.

Mosha’s goal was all Botswana needed to collect three points and send the Chipolopolo at the bottom of Group H.
