Masebo calls for support to operationalize regional lab

Patricia Banda-Health Minister SYLVIA MASEBO has called for support to fully operationalize the Southern Africa Regional Collaboration Centre as well as the Regional integrated Surveillance and Laboratory Network framework.

Ms MASEBO says this can only be achieved through Collaboration, Cooperation and Partnership among Member States to enhance Health Security and Networking.

She was speaking at the close of a two day INAUGURAL Regional Ministerial Consultative Meeting for Health Ministers and representatives in Lusaka today.

Ms MASEBO reiterated Government support of disease intelligence agency, and the Zambia National Public health Institute continued collaboration with all the Africa Union Members in the Southern African region.

And Acting Director for Africa Centre for Disease Control AHMED OUMA said he is delighted that Zambia under the leadership of President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has re-launched the COVID 19 vaccination exercise.

The consultative meeting was drew participants from Angola, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho Malawi, Mozambique Namibia and Zimbabwe.
