Maramba Stars 1 – 1 Choma Stars
Maramba Stars were held to a 1 – 1 draw by Choma stars in a week 21 of the FAZ Division one Zone four league campaign at St Rapeals on Saturday. The Southern show boys went into the game with the hope of returning to winning ways following their 2 – 0 defeat against Zesco Shockers in Choma at the weekend.
The Choma based side started the game brightly as they threatened the oppositions goal but failed to capitalise on their terrific start. Midway through the game,Maramba had their moments to break the deadlock but just like the visitors the fluffed their lines in the final third of the pitch with Guston,Joe and Charles coming close.
With the peaple’s team on the ascendancy inform diffender Christopher “Zuma” Tiki stuck a header after taking advantage of the defensive mistlape to power home the opener for his side before halftime. The visitors came from the recess more determined but Maramba did not give them any breathing space by holding their own against their opponents increased attacks.
The visitors made changes to reinforce the front line which nearly paid off but the home teams diffence was still solid at the back. As the host looked to be heading for a much needed win at home with three points, The goalkepper Changufu made a big blunder, with over confidence trying to delay play and buy time he wanted to chest the ball to calm it and hold it instead it hit on his shoulder and in an attemp to hold it after realising were it hit the mistakenly then guided it direct into his empty net to gift Choma a goal in the 80th minute.
Choma stars were back in the game and Maramba pushed for the winner in the dying minutes but the visitors held on to make sure the game ended in a 1 – 1 stalesmate.
