Malawi will have a tough time in the return leg – Chambeshi warns

Zambia U23 national team coach Beston Chambeshi has warned the Malawians that they will have a tough time when the two teams play in the return match of the 2019 CAF U23 Africa Cup qualifiers.

Speaking after seeing his team outclass the young flames in the first le , the CAF U20 Africa Cup winning coach stated that his team still has work to do to qualify despite the positive away result.

“We have not qualified yet, we have played the first leg, we await the second leg to confirm our progress,” Chambeshi said.

He added that Malawi are a good side but need to do better in midfield.

“Malawi started well, they kept possession, but we came back in the second half stronger. They need to be better coordinated in midfield. They will have a tough time in Zambia,” he said.

On the Bola Na Lesa Boys – He defended some of his European based players who seemed not at their usual efficiency stating that they hardly had time to recover from the long flights from their bases.

“The boys arrived yesterday and had fatigue. In the return game we expect them to come full throttle,” he said.

Zambia edged Malawi 1 – 0 thanks to a Fashion Sakala lone goal to give themselves a huge advantage ahead of the return leg that will be played at Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.

The 2019 CAF U23 Africa Cup will serve as the qualifying tournament to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
