MALANJI DISPELS RUMOUR ON KAPAMBWE 

By Ruth Chayinda:The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has clarified that Zambia’s Ambassador-designate to Washington DC Lazarous Kapambwe has not been expelled by the US Government.Foreign Affairs Minister Joseph Malanji says Mr. Kapambwe has just swapped positions with Dr Ngosa Simbyakula who was based at Zambia’s Mission in Washington DC.Mr. Malanji says Mr. Kapampwe, who was at the United Nations has been transferred to Washington DC swapping with Dr. Simbyakula, is just waiting for a bilateral visa for him to operate in Washington DC and that is the reason he is in Zambia.Speaking at a media briefing, Mr Malanji said Zambia still enjoys institutional relations with the US Government.The Foreign Affairs Minister said this is contrary to social media speculation that Zambia’s Ambassador-designate to Washington has been expelled.
