MAKE MENSTRUAL HYGIENE AFFORDABLE

Government has called for collaboration between  Non-Governmental Organisations and the private sector aimed at  making affordable menstrual hygiene products.

Ministry of Education Permanent Secretary Educational Services, JOEL KAMOKO says schools, business places and public areas must have access to safe and clean wash services and facilities.

Mr KAMOKO further says girls and boys must continue to learn about menstruation to encourage young women to embrace menstrual health.

He was speaking during the commemoration of the 2023 menstrual Hygiene Day at the University of Zambia in Lusaka in a speech read on his behalf by Director Science and Nutrition.

Meanwhile, former University of Zambia student EFFIE MPHANDE who gave a vote of thanks on behalf of the School of Public Health, said enhanced menstrual hygiene education will allow safe sanitary facilities and necessary support.
