By Lomphande Phiri

Lusaka water supply and Sanitation Company has already embarked on safety measures to ensure all sources of water are safe to avert any possible contamination for consumption following a caution issued by the water resources management authority –WARMA-.

WARMA has cautioned against the consumption of underground water due to a possible contamination resulting from flash floods which may have submerged some boreholes and caused soak ways to overflow in some parts of Lusaka.

Company marketing and public relations manager, Patson Phiri notes that the concerns raised by WARMA are genuine and that the company has already taken precautionary measures.
Mr Phiri in an interview with phoenix news has also advised all private borehole owners to secure their sources of underground water from a possible contamination to avoid any outbreak of waterborne diseases.
