Lwandamina set to return to Zesco with Janza as his TD

Zesco United is set to announce George ‘Chicken’ Lwandamina as their new coach, the ZamFoot Crew can exclusively reveal.

The 59 year old returns to Ndola for a his third stint in the hot seat.

Lwandamina is believed to have already bid farewell to Kabwe Warriors players and is on his way to the Copperbelt.

The former Mufulira Wanderers defender guided Zesco United to the 2016 CAF Champions League semi final in his first spell in charge.

With his heroics on the continent, Lwandamina was snatched by Tanzania’s Yanga where he spent two seasons.

He then returned to Zesco United in 2018 and guided the club to their 7th and 8th league title.

At the end of 2020, Lwandamina received another lucrative offer from Tanzania.

Having spent another season in East Africa with Azam, Lwandamina returned to Zambia and placed himself on sabbatical leave.

Whilst at the farm, Warriors managed to convince him to return to management but things have not gone to plan at the Godfrey Ucar Chitalu Stadium.

With Warriors struggling and Zesco searching for a coach after they axed Numba Mumamba, it seems like Lwandamina’s return is what the Zega mambo fans have been waiting.
