The Scaling Up Nutrition Technical Assistant -SUNTA- says the oragnisation will help improve the nutrition of children in Luwingu District.
SUNTA Luwingu District Manager, RICHARD MOONGA notes that the organization has contributed toward the reduction of stunting levels among children in the district.
Mr. MOONGA says the organization has also continued to sensitize communities on the importance of feeding their children nutritious foods through its many activities in agriculture, health and livestock.
He states that it is the desire of the government to ensure that every child stays healthy and strong.
Mr. MOONGA says the community has welcomed the program and has now ventured into gardening as a way of providing good and healthy foods to their children.
He has however appealed to stakeholders to continue working with his organization in making sure that government’s desire of fighting stunting is achieved.
Mr. MOONGA was speaking during a stakeholders meeting in Luwingu district.
And Northern Province Assistant Secretary JORDAN MWENYA, who led stakeholder’s in monitoring some of the activities SUNTA is conducting in the district, is impressed with what he found.
Meanwhile, Kapela Village headman ABEL MWANSA thanked SUNTA for empowering them with knowledge stating that the community should take good care of its children.
