Lusaka Region FAZ Women’s league Wrap: Buffaloes , Nkwazi, BUSA and Cranes record wins

Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Women’s League Lusaka Region entered week 12 over the weekend and produced quiet interesting results as we witnessed a few goals scored.

At Nkoloma Stadium, Red Arrows fought hard to condemn Yasa Queens to their second succesive defeat of the season as a Grace Chanda second half headed goal was the difference between the two sides.

This was a game that could have gone either way as it was an open game and they created chances but were lucklustre in front of goal. The Striking trio of Maiwase, Helen Mubanga and Grace Chanda missed so many chances to bury the game for Arrows but failed to convert.

On the other hand Yasa equally had a share of opportunities especially in the second half but the Likes of Thanda Onneil, Florence Kasonde and Christine Nyirongo were not given enough space to put the ball behind the net as the Arrows defence led by team captain Doreen Mwaseba, Mary Mulenga, Elizabeth Nachivula and Helen ‘Soldier’ Chanda were a hard nut to cruck and made things difficult for the Helen Kaunda Based Team and Couldn’t trouble Susan Nalyamba in goal for Arrows.

The battle line was in the midfield with the Air Women Commanding Play so well, Racheal Lungu the player of the match was exceptional together with the experienced Susan Banda and Quick feet of Mary Mambwe but Yasa gave it their all and were more well organised in all departments.

Anna Mukumbuta was excellent in Goal making decisive saves to deny Arrows more goals.

Patricia Lampi, Peza Kakandu, Tuty Kamanga and Limited Mulenga were solid in defence and gave the home team a tough time to penetrate.

Catherine Ngambi, Tamara Chibamba, Thanda Onneil, Ruth Ndala and Florence Florence Kasonde all tried their best but it was just not their day as they lost 1 – 0.

National Assembly Hosted Green Buffaloes in the Showgrounds, Judy Zulu and Red Hot striker Racheal Nachula scored for the Soldiers as they won the game 2 – 1 with the consolation goal for the Parliamentarians coming from Grace Kamanga which was the first the soldiers have conceded this season.

Elswhere in Kafue, The Cranes continued with their great scoring abilities as a Lydia Brace And Tisi goal made sure they claimed maximum 3 points against a Luyando Side who scored through Elessy Chilandula and Matilda Muluka for the game to end 3 – 2 in favor of Kafue Cranes.

In Chilanga, the weeping Girls Lusaka Queens succumbed to yet another loss this time around losing Three Goals to One at the hands of Bauleni United Sports Academy who found the back of the net through Mary Banda, Riba Musonda and Salome Phiri to take them to 19 points.

Nkwazi Queens recorded another victory away to Pamalat as they silenced them 2 – 0 with in-form High Flying Nkwazi attacking midfielder Towera Nkhata yet again finding herself on the scoresbeet with a goal and Lushomo Mweemba with another goal to make sure the Police Sponsored Outfit go back with maximum 3 points.

Chiparamba Breakthrough Sports Academy beat their fellow struggles Olympic Flying Queens 1 – 0 moving to 12 points at par with Luyando Foundation.
