Lusaka Provincial Women’s League: Wins for Lusaka Queens, Zanaco, and Football Chance

By Moses Mwanza | August 4, 2021

Football Chance Foundation Girls this morning recorded their second successive victory after they edged bottom-placed King Soccer Academy Girls 0-1 away in Kanyama at Twashuka Ground in a 2020/21 FAZ Women’s League Lusaka Province Rescheduled match Week 23 as the season is winding up.

Coach Prince Alfred Shaba for Football Chance made one change to the starting lineup that defeated Garden Youth 4-0 last weekend, resting 2-goal hero Saliya Mwanza who was later introduced in the second half of the match.

The game started on a high note with both sides testing the other in the early moments with end-to-end action but nothing much to write home about.

However, 8th placed Football Chance’s Bupe Banda broke the deadlock just after the 20th-minute mark slotting home past Beauty Namukonda in goal for King Sport to make it 1-0 in favor of the visitors and that was enough for the day and a sweet away victory for the Foundation Girls who are now bubbling with so much confidence going into their next and final match this weekend away to Kafue Celtic Queens.

Football Chance is still laying 8th on the log standings with 31 points while King Sport is still on the bottom with only 10 points from 24 games played by both teams.

Elsewhere at Sunset Stadium, Zanaco Football Club Ladies were too Sensational as they edged Misisi Queens United 1-0 in another rescheduled match in week 5 with the only goal of the match scored by Deborah Nyamulongo a player who is on loan at the Bankers from Super League outfit Red Arrows Women Football Club.

ZANACO and Misisi now have 26 points apiece but only separated on goal difference with the latter being on position 10 while the former has dropped down to 11th position.

In the lunchtime kick-off match in Chilanga at TAP Ground, Lusaka Queens FC defeated NAPSA Stars Queens 2-0 in another rescheduled match week 14 with two late goals from top goal scorer Ruth Ngoma who now has 31 goals this season, and Rosemary Mbewe with the other goal to ensure maximum points from the Queens of Lusaka who has redeemed themselves after a disappointing goalless draw last weekend against Chibolya Sports Academy Girls.

Lusaka Queens have maintained their 4th place in the log standings with 50 points from 24 games played while NAPSA is still in position 5 with 44 points from 23 games played.
