Ms MUTEMBO said in an interview that the Concession period is twenty-five years of which Three years is for construction and twenty-two years for operations and maintenance.

And Infrastructure , Housing and Urban Development Minister CHARLES MILUPI said the Ministry will set up a monitoring committee to monitor the road works both from the rehabilitation stage and after the works are completed.

Mr MILUPI said this will enable the committee, check the quality works carried out by the contractor who will spend 3 years to construct the road and 22 years to maintain it.

He said the Lusaka Ndola road is not only an investment but also an asset that is expected to spur economic development in the country .

Mr MILUPI assured that detours will be created along the Lusaka Ndola road while road works are being carried out to enable the flow of traffic.

Mr MILUPI however said that the contractor is expected to subcontract 20 percent of the works to local companies and has since urged companies to set themselves up to participate in the project.
