Lusaka Dynamos moved into second position in Stream A of the FAZ MTN Super League when they beat Red Arrows 1 – 0 at Nkoloma Stadium.

It was a deserved win for the visiting side who lacked sharper than Arrows in all departments Chris Mugalu crowning his man of the match performance with a goal.

Arrows coach Chisi Mbewe made one change to the team that beat Green Buffaloes 1 – 0 at the same venue bringing in Syd Phiri for Stanley Nshimbi.

The visitors gave U23 international Conlyde Luchanga a rare start in a 4 3 3 formation playing alongside Mugalu and Namibian Shitembi Petrus.

Bruce Musakanya was looking dangerous on the right flank giving veteran Zimbabwe defender Ocean Mushure a torrid time but it was Dynamos who dominated possession and made more in-roads into the opposition half despite both goal keepers not having much to do.

After the restart, Arrows looked the stronger side as the visitors failed to cope with the absence of Emmanuel Habasimbi who was forced out with a harmstring injury and replaced by Moussa Lemisa.

Ian Bakala who was on the bench for Dynamos in the absence of Patrick Phiri then brought in Mwansa Nsofwa for a disappointing Luchanga who was very poor on the day.

Nsofwa turned provider for the goal when he played into space by Shitembi Petrus and his inch perfect cross was met by Mugalu who fired home with his first touch from close range leaving Danny Munyau with no chance in the 79th minute.

Arrows ended with no recognizable striker as if to show that they had thrown in the towel.

It was an imperious performance by the Dynamos back four with Paul Banda, Mushure, Lombard Tiberius and Dauda Dennis showing both individual brilliance and coordination at the back.

The result sees Lusaka Dynamos move to 8 points, 5 behind leaders Zanaco who won at home against Nakambala.

Arrows drop into 7th position on 5 points.
