Lungu Donates Mealie Meal To Mungwi Senior Citizens

President Edgar Lungu has donated hundreds of bags of mealie meal to senior citizens in Mungwi District, Northern Province.

The donation is meant to help the old people with food following floods which hit the district earlier this year.

And Malole Member of Parliament Christopher Yaluma, who delivered the consignment, said the Head of State has donated the mealie meal to thank the people of Mungwi District for supporting him.

Mr. Yaluma, who is also Commerce Minister, said President Lungu wants to alleviate the peoples’ suffering.

And several senior citizens have praised the President for alleviating their suffering.

Elizabeth Chileshe of Chibobo village said the donation by President Lungu took them by surprise.

Mrs. Chileshe said she never expected to receive such a gift from the Head of state.

Another senior citizen, Busia Mukuka of Chupa village said the donation has motivated her to even register to vote next year.

Mrs. Mukuka said she voted for Lungu in 2016 and will do the same in 2021 because he is a good leader.
