LUAPULA NETS $5BN
Luapula Province has recorded 5 billion United States investments from close to 100 companies that are interested to invest in the province.
Speaking at a media luncheon in Mansa, Luapula Province Minister Nickson Chilangwa in his Investment Promotion and Development Programme progress report said out of the 5 billion investment, 2 billion USD is already in the province.
Mr. Chilangwa noted that since the hosting of the Luapula Investment Exposition in 2017, the province has been making steady progress and so far, the province is already realising some benefits as a result of the Luapula Exposition.
He noted that some of the projects such as the 50 million US Dollars Mansa Sugar limited company in Chembe district has produced its first sample sugar and will soon be commissioned.
The Provincial Minister said that the province now has air transport and Mahogany air which he said is the airline will give an alternative transport system to investors coming in the province.
