LOYOLA TV PARTNERS WITH TOP STAR

Loyola Television has partnered with Top Star Communications Company Limited to facilitate the distribution of TopStar decoders countrywide.

And, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Services Permanent Secretary Amos Malupenga says the partnership speaks right to the policy of government to ensure that every Zambian has access to information.

Mr. Malupenga says with the partnership, the targeted six million Zambians will be reached, adding that it will not only benefit the Catholics, but all Zambians.

Speaking during the signing ceremony, Loyola TV Director Father Patrick Mulemi said the alliance will see TopStar decoders which carry the Catholic run channels, Loyola TV and Lumen TV, being sold through Catholic Church sites across the country.

He said the partnership will enable anyone whether Catholic or not to buy or order a Top Star decoder from their nearest Catholic Church.

Fr. Mulemi said Loyola has also partnered with Zamtel to connect the church to its over six million parishioners via telecommunication, internet and mobile money.

Meanwhile, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Top Star John Zhuang said as the public signal distributor, Top Star has the mandate to ensure that all Zambian households have access to information through affordable digital TV.

He added that Top Star is open to initiatives that will push the agenda to reach as many Zambian households as possible for them to access local content relevant to the communities where signal is distributed.
