Livingstone Tourism Association welcomes waiver tourism equipment

Moombe Hamobola-The Livingstone Tourism Association -LTA- says the waiver on customs duty for most tourism equipment as proposed in next year’s national budget will allow players in the tourism sector to reinvest in the industry.

Acting LTA Chairperson HILARY KASHEMPA adds that the VISA waiver for countries that are major contributors to foreign tourists has been a major cry for the tourism sector for a long time.

He says tour operators are excited with the pronouncements made by Finance and National Planning Minister SITUMBEKO MUSOKOTWANE in the 2023 proposed budget as far as tourism is concerned.

He spoke in an interview with ZNBC News.

And speaking in a separate interview, Zambian Association of Indigenous Tour Operators -ZATO- Secretary General KELVIN MWELWA said the budget has given hope to the recovery of the tourism sector.
