Livingstone Pirates 2 – 1 Mumbwa Medics

Livingstone Pirates defied all the odds to beat favourites Mumbwa medics 2-1 to revive their Faz Division one Zone Four campaign at Busiku Grounds on Sunday afternoon.

After a bright start to the game, pirates fell behind against the run of play when former pirates striker Mbame scored a brilliant long range shot in the 27th minute. The offensive midfielder struck a sweet volley catching goalkeeper Peter by surprise as it went in.

The goal boosted the zamseed boys, who came very close to finding the second goal. A quick interchange of passes released the veteran striker who unleashed a terrific effort which struck the upright but the Bupe Chewe’s side never gave up and mounted a strong search for the equalizer but ended the first half trailing.

In the second half Bupe made double change were Kalalambili and Clifford “coki” went out for Coaster and Given Kalijo.In the 63rd minute, Bornface Moono headed in a cross from the right wing at the near post after the goalkeeper was cought between his on diffenders to slot home the equalizer.

Medics never gave up,they brought there all and pressured Landloads defence with the coach brining on an additional tall striker in view of finding a winner neglecting the fact that they were exposing the defence.

Ten minutes away from time,Livingstone Pirates profited from an error from inside the box, The Medics goalkeeper hit Joseph with a high kick which resulted into a penalty and a yellow card for him.

Medics tried there level best to atleast come out with a point but the Landlords keeper, Peter was up for the task in goal as he kept denying them with his splendid saves.
