LIVINGSTONE COOPERATIVE TO PUT UP MANGO JUICE FACTORY

The Livingstone Cooperative Union is in the process of putting up a Mango Juice factory in Livingstone next year.
Union Chairperson Rwinnick Mapanza says it does not make business sense for Livingstone to keep importing mango juice when the city is blessed with plenty of mangoes trees.
Mr. Mapanza says mangoes in Livingstone go to waste annually a situation he says should not be allowed to continue.
He says land has already been secured on the Livingstone – Lusaka road and that the Union is in the process of meeting the Ministry of Commerce for financial and technical support.
Mr. Mapanza says the union also wants to teach small scale farmers how to add value to mangoes by making juice and drying mangoes on a home scale.
