Livingstone City Council receives funds for access roads

(ZNBC News)

The Ministry of Lands has given the Livingstone City Council K2.6m towards the construction of access roads in Parkview and Kasiya areas in the city.

Livingstone Town Clerk TIMOTHY MAMBALAKATA says the council is aware of the challenges being faced by land owners to develop.

Mr. MAMBALAKATA says the construction of access roads in Parkview will start as soon as the rain season ends.

And some land developers have bemoaned the delayed construction of access roads.

DAVIS PHIRI who bought land in 2019 says it has been over three years waiting on the Livingstone City Council to open up the area for development.

Mr. PHIRI says a lot of people who have plots in Parkview area are not developing their pieces of land due to the lack of access roads.

Another land owner JONATHAN KASOLO says with the opening of the New Mulungushi University in the area, the council needs to expedite the construction of roads to encourage development that will supplement the learning institution.
