Levy Mwanawasa Stadium Ready To Host Athletics Championship

LEVY Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola on the Copperbelt has been certified ready to host the African Athletics Championship.

The Championship is scheduled to start on April 28th to May 3rd, 2023.

Sports Permanent Secretary KANGWA CHILESHE says the inspection which was conducted on April 6th 2023 has certified that the stadium is ready to host the championship.

Speaking at a press briefing in LUSAKA, CHILESHE said the hosting of CAA will among others support the tourism sector as over one thousand athletes and delegates will be coming for the game.

And Zambia Athletics President ELIAS MPONDELA disclosed that over 50 countries will be participating in the Championship.

Meanwhile Kenya Athletics Communications and Sustainability Officer MAXWELL NYAMU said installation of Air conditioning is currently underway.
