Leader Movement to lead economic revolution.

Dr. Silumbe says Zambia has capable youths to drive the country to prosperity if they were given the opportunity to lead.

Lusaka (30-07-2020) Opposition Leadership Movement (LM) will lead the economic revolution using a wealth of many unemployed youths whose potential the government has failed to utilise.
Party president Richard Silumbe tied journalists at a media briefing that Zambia not only has lots of natural resources in the which had caught the attention of the world investors but also have human resource in the youths which has for a very long time been neglected.
Dr. Silumbe said it is scary that over 80% of the youths population is not formal employment and the work which was supposed to be done by them is in the foreigners responsible for looting of natural resources present in the country.
Dr. Silumbe said his party has embarked on a national wide recruitment targeting over the 4 million youths out of employment.
He said when his party forms governments after next years election courtesy of the youth population, all the target youths will be employed in the field of construction, tourism, agriculture and mining industry.
He said the country has not only abundant resources but also have human capital to develop the land0.
He regretted that the natural resources are being taken away by the foreigners are not benefiting the local.
He said exploiting the abundant potentials in the target fields will create permanent jobs for the youths and will continue having money in their pockets year in year out.
He said those that will not be lack to get jobs in these fields they will be incorporated in the Civil Service, including the security and defense forces.
He said countries that have witnessed abundant development, youths have not only been incorporated but have also led the economic development in the countries concerned.
He said under the Leadership Movement government, the youths not only lead the development but will also be in charge of the natural resources.
He said currently the youths have problems to find jobs  because the older people who have done their parts are still incharge of the development.
He observed that the old folks of which many of the m were born before independence still have the mentality that only foreigners can develop Zambia.
Dr. Silumbe said this mentality must come to an end and urged the people to remove this  idea from the minds of the people who still believe that only foreigners can develop Zambia.
He said it is time for the people of Zambia  to put leadership that understand what is happening in the 20th century.
And Leadership Movement National chairperson said the high numbers of youths applying for few government jobs is suggestive that the country is in state of employment crisis.
The national chairman told journalists at the media briefing that of the over 4.8 million youths in the country  today, only a fraction of the youths are in employment.
He said the rising figures of the youths chasing for few positions indicate that there is a crisis in the country.
He observed that when the youths rise to demand for their rights, the government would label them disgruntled and begin to persecute them.
He regretted that many politicians are scared of the youths but the leadership movement will enact policies that will promote the youths and human rights.
He said the youths are not a problem nor do they have a problem in the development of the country but rather should be seen as part of the solution to the problem the country is facing today.
He said the youths have all the energy  Zambia nees in its quest to develop the country.
He said it does not make sense to say the youths are future leaders but does nothing to make the claim to be a reality.
He said many youths cannot afford to sustain themselves because they don’t have basic resources.
Hebsaid the leadership believe the youths can be engaged in the local production of goods and services for both local use and expert.
He said when his party form government it will ensure that each and every youth has a job and this will prevent abuse of the youths taking place in the country.
He said it is sad that the youths fighting for their rights are being are victimised by the government.
He said the youths are not interested in being given money but to use their hands and knowledge to earn their living.
He said it is wrong for the government to assume that it know what the youths want.
He urged the government not to give youths handouts but empower them with means to make their own resources saying in doing, the youths will learn to fend for themselves.
