LANDS MINISTRY IMPROVING SERVICE DELIVERY

By Patricia Banda:

The Ministry of Lands and Smart Zambia Institute have begun internal sensitization on the Zambia Integrated Land Administration System-ZILAS for workers at the Ministry.

Lands and Natural Resources Minister ELIJAH MUCHIMA says the new system will reduce processing procedures needed for one to get title deeds and other services that the public will require.

Mr. MUCHIMA says once the system is completed, it will work 24/7 and reduce long queues that characterize the Ministry of Lands.

He says there won’t be challenges such as double allocation of land with the new system.

Mr. MUCHIMA disclosed that the system is expected to be launched next month and that the training by Smart Zambia Institute will continue to ensure workers are conversant.

He was speaking when he addressed workers at the Ministry today.

And, Smart Zambia National Coordinator PERCY CHINYAMA said the new system will improve transparency and accountability.

Mr. CHINYAMA stated that the public will be able to make payments for land electronically.
