Kotoko open Yacouba negotiations with Zesco United, Pirates also in the picture

Ghanian giants Asante Kotoko have opened negotiations with defending Zambia Super League Champions, Zesco United over the sale of Burkinabe striker Yacouba Songné.

Kotoko CEO George Amoako confirmed the development to a local Radio Station following a meeting held this morning to discuss the future of the enterprising forward.

“After a management meeting, We have agreed to open negotiations with Zesco United. It’s the only interest I know of. We have replied to them as expected and waiting for an offer then we can qoute how much we want to sell him,” Kotoko CEO George Amoako told Oyerepa FM.

Zesco United will however have to fight for his signature with South African PSL giants Orlando Pirates who are also interested in the services of the Burkinabe forward.

“Zesco are definitely not the only team that is interested in the services of Yacouba because Pirates also made an official inquiry last week,” A ZamFoot Crew source in South Africa said.

The interest comes after the Burkinabe forward’s impressive showing in the CAF Confederation Cup were he gave a tough time to two Zambian top clubs Nkana and Zesco United.
