KOLA OUT! CHITIYA IN…as Numba declares the bankers ready for Zesco showdown

Zanaco head Coach Numba Mumamba has declared his side ready as they host Zesco United in a Super Saturday Clash at Sunset Stadium tomorrow.

And striker Rodger Kola will miss Saturday’s mouth watering clash due to a shoulder injury.

“Everything is on course we have done all what we could to make sure that the team is ready for tomorrow’s encounter zesco united.

” This game gives us the opportunity to open up a three point lead on top,” the soft spoken former Chipolopolo winger said.

Numba also lauded the George Lwandamina coached side as the ‘most experienced team and the best in the land.’

“We are playing the most experienced team and the best in the land so it won’t be an easy game but we know we have a team that can beat Zesco United from what we have seen in training.

Since 2002, Zanaco and Zesco United have been the most joint successful sides accounting to 14 league titles between them.

While Numba guided the bankers to their 7th league title in 2016 in his debut season as head coach, the Sunset Stadium outfit have played second fiddle to Zega Mambo in last two seasons.

Not only have Zesco gone on level in terms of league titles with Zanaco, the Ndola side has become the country’s cornerstone on the continent as well, having reached CAF Champions League semi finals three seasons ago.

Having missed out on continental football last season, the bankers had a perfect start to the new season and at some point were considered as run away leaders but reality donned.

Despite suffering two defeats from their last five games, the bankers are still top with 23 points, level with Lusaka Dynamos with unbeaten Kabwe Warriors third.

Zesco United is fourth on 21 points.

For Saturday’s Super clash, Mumamba told the ZamFoot Crew that despite a few injury issues the current players who are fit will get the job done

“One of the players who is out is Roger kola off course will miss him his an important member of our team and his been scoring goals for the team, but the good thing is we have Chitiya Mususu back in the team to replace Roger and I think Chitiya is equal to the task and we hope he will give us the desired goals that we want.”
