Kitwe hospital in coma

NKOMBO KACHEMBA, Kitwe
KITWE Teaching Hospital (KTH) in Kitwe on the Copperbelt is in dire need of rehabilitation and expansion to save the infrastructure from dilapidation.
The health institution, which was built in 1956, is failing to meet the demand in health services because of limited space and dilapidated infrastructure.
Initially, KTH was built to provide health services to a smaller population but now it has to cater for more than one million people.
At the maternity ward, the institution has only six bed spaces but attends to more than 20 births per day.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
