Kitwe District DC happy with CDF empowerment

Kitwe District Commissioner LAWRENCE MWANZA says the distribution of K2m to cooperatives is meant to promote entrepreneurship in the district.

Mr. MWANZA says government has demonstrated commitment to supporting Zambians that are involved in business.

Heis happy that the amount of empowerment funds under CDF has been increasing over the years.

Mr MWANZA said this when he opened a capacity building workshop for the beneficiaries of the empowerment funds for Chimwemwe Constituency in Kitwe today.

Meanwhile, Chimwemwe Member of Parliament ALLEN BANDA urged the beneficiaries to use the money for the intended purpose.

Mr. BANDA encouraged the seventy-eight cooperatives that will benefit to use the money to move themselves and their families out of poverty.

And Kitwe City Council Director of Planning CHABA CHIPILI said the local authority will provide the technical support to all the businesses that are using empowerment funds from CDF.
