Kitwe Council Buys 10 tractors Using Equalization Fund

Kitwe City Council has bought 10 tractors and trailers valued at over 5 million Kwacha using locally generated revenue and some funds from the Local Government Equalization Fund.

And Copperbelt Minister ELISHA MATAMBO says the government is determined to address the issue of garbage collection by procuring more equipment.

Speaking during the Commissioning of the equipment, Mr. MATAMBO called on other Local Authorities in the Province to emulate Kitwe City Council and invest in garbage collection equipment.

Kitwe District Commissioner LAWRENCE MWANZA expressed happiness that the new equipment will improve service delivery.

And Kitwe Mayor MWAYA MPASA said the equipment will be used to pick garbage in all the constituencies of Kitwe District.
