Kenyan parliamentarians have demanded that better quality food be served in the national assembly’s cafeteria.

The legislatures want catering services outsourced sp they can enjoy five-star hotel-style catering, local media report.

Parliamentary majority leader Aden Duale called for the implementation of a report that recommended radical changes in catering services.

We must outsource this service. The legislature cannot do business of cooking food. This should be given to the right people, said Mr Duale.

The report, which compared what was available in other parliaments, also recommended construction of two more cafeterias as well as renovation of the kitchen, restaurant, bar and members’ lounge.

Kenyan MPs are among some of the best paid lawmakers in the world.
