KEEP ESSENTIAL BUSINESSES OPEN ONLY

March 28, 2020March 28, 202040By Reuben Chomba:The Association of the Indian Community Living in Zambia has called on its members who may have been in contact with any one who travelled from Pakistan or any high risk Covid-19 country, to go into self isolation and seek medical attention.Association Board Member, Ismail Kankara, has also urged its members who own businesses, but may have come in contact with anyone who travelled from COVID-19 high risk countries, to close their businesses for a period of two weeks, while they go in isolation.Mr. Kankara also urged businesses, who will remain open, to adhere to strict hygiene standards as prescribed by the Ministry of Health.He was speaking during a press briefing in Lusaka, during which he also said the association will soon donate various medical equipment to the government towards the fight against the pandemic.Mr. Kankara said the association is set to donate 10 ventilators, 50 oxygen concentrators, 20 thousand test kits, 20 laryngoscopes and 12 ultraviolet anti-bacterial lights to Government to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.Mr.  Kankara said the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic should not be left to government alone but requires concerted efforts from all stakeholders.Mr. Kankara said the association remains committed to work with the government to help fight the spread of Covid-19.
