KBF and ZMP Reject Allegations of Nepotism, Reaffirm Commitment to Merit-Based Leadership
Lusaka, Zambia24 – (September 11, 2024) — Zambia Must Prosper (ZMP) has responded to recent allegations of nepotism and party struggles following a post published on The Aspirant’s Facebook page on September 9th, 2024, titled KBF: The King Maker.”
In a statement issued by ZMP Media Director Daniel Nonde, the party dismissed the claims as baseless and part of a political smear campaign aimed at tarnishing the image of the party and its president, Kelvin Bwalya Fube (KBF).
Nonde emphasized that contrary to the article’s assertions, ZMP is not facing difficulties in gaining political traction. Instead, it is steadily building momentum, gaining widespread support from citizens who believe in its vision for a prosperous and developed Zambia.
Responding to allegations of nepotism within the party, Nonde clarified that only two of KBF’s family members are involved in the party, and their roles are based purely on merit.
“Their participation is grounded in their exceptional expertise and qualifications,” Nonde stated, adding that their contributions have been crucial to shaping the party’s strategies and vision for the future.
“We will not be swayed by these unfounded accusations, which are clearly driven by political malice,” Nonde said.
He reaffirmed ZMP’s commitment to its manifesto, launched on August 27th, 2024, which outlines a clear plan for Zambia’s growth and development.
Nonde concluded by asserting that the party, under KBF’s leadership, remains dedicated to promoting merit-based leadership and working towards a prosperous future for all Zambians.
“A new era of leadership has emerged, and its name is KBF and ZMP,” he declared, assuring the public that the party will continue to prioritize the principles of merit, excellence, and visionary leadership in its endeavors.
