KATAMBO COUNSELS SEED PRODUCERS

By NAIS:Agriculture Minister Michael Katambo has urged seed producers to invest in crop protection technologies to enhance the quality of seed varieties.Mr. Katambo has commended Corteva Agriscience for investing in technologies that are helping farmers achieve reasonable yields even in times of harsh climatic conditions.He has further called on seed suppliers not to concentrate on urban areas, but also reach out to small-scale farmers in far-flung areas.Mr. Katambo was speaking when a delegation from Corteva Agriscience paid a courtesy call on him at his office in Lusaka.And Corteva Agriscience Commercial Leader for Eastern, Southern and Central Africa Joseph Anampiu reiterated the company’s commitment to working closely with government and other players in the industry.Meanwhile, Corteva Zambia Country leader Samson Nyendwa said the company has invested over 1-hundred million Dollars as a direct investment into Zambia.And Corteva Government and Industry Affairs Leader for Africa and Middle East Betty Kiplagat said the company wants to partner with government to train inspectors and border agents in identifying the difference between seed and grain in times of export bans Post Views: 5
