Brian Mwale-President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA is saddened with the fire incident at Kapalala Market.
The President says he is concerned with any economic setback in the daily lives of citizens as he is aware of the difficulties citizens are going as government continues to rebuild and stabilize the economy.
President HICHILEMA has since urged law enforcement agencies and investigation teams to quickly move to establish the cause of the incident while relevant government departments consider assistance that maybe availed to the affected parties.
He says part of government’s long-term strategy is to equip markets and other public places with sufficient access passages to facilitate the movement of emergency services such as fire trucks and ambulances and rapid evacuation of goods and people in an event of an accident .
President HICHILEMA has further urged the relevant line ministries and local authorities to ensure that substantive steps are taken.
