Kansashi football club has written to FAZ complaining about the postponement of the playoff match. In a letter made available to the ZamFoot Crew written by Kansashi general manager Francis Malama, The Solwezi based side have highlighted the burden the delay has put on their financials.

Kansashi were initially scheduled to play Zesco shockers in Mongu but later changed to Young Green Eagles in Kafue after a ruling by the player status and transfer committee which awarded Young Green Eagles three points from a match against Yeta who were accused of using two ineligible players.

“Kansanshi football Club is lodging an official complaint about the delayed playoff which has become a financial drain on the club.

Earlier there was an official circular from FAZ (Dated 17th June 2019) that Kansanshi dynamos will play Zesco Shockers in Mongu which we were prepared for and ready to start off to Mongu on Wednesday, 3rd July 2019. On Tuesday 2nd July 2019 a day before departure to Mongu we were later informed that we instead have to travel to Kafue and the team set off to Kafue to play Young Green Eagles.”

Kansanshi letter to FAZ

Kansashi has further asked FAZ to be quick in disposing of the appeal case by Yeta and set the playoff for Sunday or Monday to ease the financial drain on Kansanshi.

“The team is already in Lusaka and information from FAZ is that we are not going to play on Saturday 6th July 2019 until the pending case is disposed of. We are unable to plan and incurring a lot of costs as a club

If this match is deferred we shall have only three weeks in which to prepare for registration and other administrative issues for the coming season. Our appeal is that this case is expedited and be heard so that we can fulfil our fixture on 7th July 2019, Sunday at the most Monday 8th July due to the highlighted issue of cost travelling back and forth again.”

The Football Association of Zambia postponed the playoff between Kansashi and Young Green Eagles following an appeal by Yeta who claim they were not accorded a chance to be heard during the player status and transfer committee hearing.
