KAMPYONGO Pleads Not Guilty

Former Home Affairs Minister, STEPHEN KAMPYONGO has pleaded NOT guilty to eleven counts of possession of property, worth 30 million kwacha, suspected to be proceeds of crime.

In this matter, Mr. KAMPYONGO is charged together with his wife, WANZIYA.

The couple took plea today before Lusaka Magistrate, SYLVIA MUNYINYA, following their arrest by the Anti-Corruption Commission -ACC.

When the charges were read out, both the accused persons said they understood the charges, but however denied.

The matter has been adjourned to November 16th, 2022 for commencement of trial.

The accused were allegedly found in possession of property number F/135/4301 and property number F/179/4301, located in Eureka, off Kafue road valued at 11.1 million kwacha among others.
