Kalunga urges media to be factual

Information and Media Permanent Secretary KENNEDY KALUNGA has appealed to media houses to be factual and accurate in the dissemination of information to promote unity in the nation.

Mr KALUNGA further called for partnership between the public and private media to ensure information on government programs reaches communities.

ZANIS reports that the Permanent Secretary was speaking when he visited private radio stations in Chingola district.

Shekinah Radio station Chief Executive Director CADDIE NG’AMBI appealed to the government to consider a waiver on equipment in the media industry.

Mr NG’AMBI further called on the government to extend the station’s operation license to that of a Television.

Earlier, Rise FM station manager THERESA MANSANZA indicated that private radio stations are grappling with sustainability due to high operational cost.

And I-wave station manager LUCY KAONGA appealed to the PS to help stations with a credit line which would help in accessing equipment that can be paid for over a period of time.
