KALABA KEEPS HOPES HIGH FOR CHIPOLOPOLO

By Godfrey Chikumbi:

Former Chipolopolo skipper Rainford Kalaba believes that with good preparations, Zambia can qualify to the World Cup for the first time in the history of the country.

Kalaba says despite failing to make it to the Africa Cup of Nations, the Chipolopolo can still qualify to the World’s biggest soccer showpiece.

The AFCON-winning midfielder was speaking in an interview with ZANIS in Lubumbashi.

Kalaba has since urged players and technical bench to put behind their failed bid to the AfCON and focus on making it to the World Cup.

He said Zambia currently has a wider pool of talent in almost every department of the team for the coach choose from.

And Kalaba has not ruled out the possibility of coming back to play for Zambia again.

Zambia are in group B with Tunisia, Mauritania and Equatorial Guinea in the second round of the road to the Qatar 2022 World Cup finals.
