Kafue Town Council Wrangles Affect Development Of Kafue Constituency

Kafue Constituency Member of Parliament Miriam Chonya has charged that wrangles that have recently characterized the Kafue Town Council have affected the development of the town.

Ms. Chonya has told Phoenix News in an interview that the council has spent a lot of time resolving the wrangles at the expense of development in the area.

Meanwhile, Ms. Chonya has since welcomed the resolution by councilors in the area to dialogue on the matter where they called for the resignation of Kafue town council secretary Isaac Mudala.

Last week, 12 Councilors at Kafue Town Council accused the Council Secretary of abuse of authority of office for obtaining land worth k140, 000 using council without council approval and renovating the council secretary’s residential house using 20% of the 2019 local government equalization fund instead of using local revenue among many other allegations.

But information obtained by Phoenix News indicate that the Councilors have since withdrawn the petition and resolved that dialogue is held over the matter.
