Kafue Councillors Up In Arms Against Council Secretary Over Alleged Abuse Of Authority Of Office

Kafue Councilors have accused Town Council Secretary Isaac Mudala of abuse of authority of office.

The councilors have since petitioned Town Council Chairperson General Moono Simakoloyi to call for a special council meeting with the aim of giving the council secretary an opportunity to exculpate himself.

In a petition signed by the 12 councilors and obtained by Phoenix News, the Civic leaders allege that Mr. Mudala has obtained land worth K140, 000 using council funds without approval.

Mr. Mudala is also accused of having renovated the council secretary’s residential house using 20% of the 2019 local government equalization fund instead of using local revenue among many other allegations.

The councilors have vowed that they will not allow abuse of authority, misapplication of government funds, failure to follow laid down procedure and approved council budget.

But when reached for confirmation, Kafue District Council Chairperson, General Moono Simakoloyi refused to comment saying he does not discuss administration matters on phone.
