Kabwe Warriors coach happy with away draw in Choma

Kabwe Warriors played out to a two-all draw against Green Eagles on Saturday afternoon, The match was played away in Choma at Independence Stadium.

The game was Physical and entertaining as it produced three penalties and four goals. Green Eagles scored the first goal via a well-taken penalty by amity Shamende in the 33rd minute, Kabwe Warriors responded as well by scoring an equalizer in the 45th minute through Field Kandela.

With just a minute in the second half, the Warriors took the lead after scoring from the spot-kick by skipper Clement Mundia. Green Eagles Skipper Ceasor Hakaaluba for canceling Warriors lead and leveling the scoreline to force a two-all draw.

Kabwe Warriors coach Levy ‘Chabby’ Chabala was left satisfied with an away point considering that they lost the first game in Kabwe by a one-nil scoreline.

“We had chances that we could wrap up the game, our strategy was not to go with zero points at least one or three points. The last time we lost to Green Eagles that is one-nil,” Chabala said.

Kabwe Warriors played with a young side as some of their senior players are still nursing some injuries. Players like Jimmy Ndjovu and  Akakulubelwa Mwachiaba are out injured.

“We had only Scot Ngokane who is older, the rest were below 24 years old. We have Jimmy, Akakulubelwa, and Mathews are all on the injury list. And that’s the reason why we came with young stars,” Chabala said.

The draw leaves Kabwe Warriors in the sixth position on the log with 27 points out of 18 games played.
